Also:

Now that you folks have finished your journey, I expect that you folks will each individually be able to beat the speed record on the "find each state capital" game located at:

http://www.purposegames.com/geoquiz/uscapitals

It's only the lower 48 states, so you've got a head start already.

The best posted time thus far seems to be just under 49 seconds. Surely you folks can beat that!

I MUST ADD MY CONGRATS ALSO.
IRONICALLY, I LOGGED ON MY LAST MILEAGE ENTRY IN MY NOTES LAST EVENING AT 10:45 P.M. ILLINOIS TIME. AND FROM WHAT I READ THIS MORNING, THAT IS THE TIME YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN LEAVING LAX.
GUESS THAT TELLS YOU I HAVE BEEN 'WITH YOU' ALL THE WAY.
I JUST NOTICED THE MESSAGE FROM GORDON. HE IS SUGGESTING, AS I DID IN THE LAST E-MAIL, THAT WE WANT TO READ A BOOK IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE. GET IT DOWN WHILE THINGS ARE FRESH IN YOUR MINDS.
AGAIN, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ARRIVAL IN HONOLULU. ENJOY THE WEATHER AND BRING SOME OF IT BACK TO THE MAINLAND IN A COUPLE WEEKS.
SINCERELY,
Barb

Enjoy your stay in Hawaii. YOu've certainly earned it!

An excellent adventure!
And it's been grand fun for all of us following along. (but not as much fun as YOU two had. damn! Even some of us aging 'baby boomers' in remembering our own youthful adventures of the 60's and 70's are feeling nostalgic pangs of envy.. )

Anyway, speaking from experience, watch out for the natural "letdown" that is sure to hit you later on (adventuring can be crazy addictive) ..AND.. let all of your subscribers know when your next big adventure is in the works.
You know.. you've both now ruined any chances whatsoever of being able to hold down some future, boring desk job.. heheh.. perhaps just as well.

bill (in washington, dc)

ps: How about continuing to post more entries and photos of your stay in Hawaii?

Hey guys.. Just wanted to drop by a line and say that I've been following your progress all along. I'm from Vancouver, and I'm currently working in NJ. I recently visited DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Delaware, so I could relate a little with your adventures. I understand about Delaware. I've overcome the fear as well, but I will still need lots of treatment! I'm sure you have critics, but they don't understand what you guys did here. Heck, you got a bunch of strangers around the world following your progress, and it's all part of a fantastic social / Internet experiment. I salute you!

Well done guys! I'd love to see you tackle an adventure just as ambitious in your home country of Canada once you recover from this one. Perhaps you could build an igloo in Iqaluit, lasso a moose in Moosejaw, show off your underwear in Haines Junction, carry a canoe in Portage La Prairie...well I'm certain you two original thinkers could come up with something way better than these lame ideas, and I know you'd have a huge audience who would love to watch you try!

Love and congratulations from your Aunt Sue (well, not your Aunt Sue, Scotty, although since I've met you and your family now perhaps I could count as an honorary Aunt)
