Our names are Scotty and Fiddy and we hitchhiked to all 50 state capitols in 50 consecutive days. We started in Times Square on October 10th 2006 and ended in Honolulu on November 28th 2006. It was awesome. Email us: hitch50@gmail.com. Thanks to everyone who made it possible, it was fun! Read about our trip here.

Are you guys going to have a map of where you went on the site so that we can all see how the trip went.

Best of Luck, but aren't you worried about the state police throwing you in jail? Isn't hitchhiking illegal?

PS. hope you're as successful as the one-red-paperclip.

Are you actually going to go to each capitol building in each city? I think you should. Seems like a good way to document the trip. Way to go on reaching Albany!

Will we be able to see not only your current location but the path you have taken during the trip? That'd be cool. Total distance travelled would be cool to see too.

GREAT idea -- Good luck guys!

Isn't prearranging rides counter to the concept of hitchiking?

Inessa and I were proud to provide Ride Number Two (2) to Scotty & Fiddy... We had pulled into a rest stop off the Jersey Turnpike ('cause I kinda got us a bit lost), and there was Scotty trying to thumb a ride north.

Not only did Scotty and Fiddy provide great entertainment while they occupied the backseat (their cell phones rang constantly with media calls and some ride offers from as far afield as Kansas in the hours north to Albany -- including the MSNBC interview on the front of their website which was done from the backseat), but they were also very handy with directions -- given that they were carrying a ton of tech gear along with them, we were able to get Google Map directions on the fly from the Turnpike to the 80W and then north on the 87N.

We dropped them off at the Capital Buildings for New York State in Albany, staying long enough to watch them film & photograph their first State Capital Building as well as hand them off to Ride Number Three (3) before we continued our journey towards Toronto.

I highly recommend offering these two fine folks a lift! Both entertaining as well as handy with the directions, they also patiently listened (and laughed at appropriate points) when we told our own road travel stories.
